Galería Metropolitana, Santiago de Chile, Oct. 31-Nov. 25, 2009

Halloween War Map 3 "Looking Back in Anger" is the third annual installment of our 24 hour live homage to Ergot (the fungus) and its secondary effects on history, this time in Santiago de Chile, including a re-issue of "San Lorenzo's Holocoaster" (ID 2007 at The Go Between), live music by reunited Chilean underground weirdos Tobias Alcayota (playing unplugged instruments under the name To Be As El Coyote), the launching of Lively Presence, a spanish translation of Vanishing Lung Syndrome by the late Czech poet Dr. Miroslav Holub along a collection of images provided by 58 close collaborators of ID, the gracious participation of Miss Camila Marambio and Miss Monika G. Horvath as Li Fattucheri, mounts of cabbage, beets, lemons on the branch, two medieval torture chairs, two live goats (to be raffled after a week), sprouted rye bread, a piled pyramid of blackened eggs, a stacked pyre of black bones, a meter wide version of "Spiegelzeit Zwei", and a Thai Gold replica of Ignaz Günther's gothic momento mori (Munchen 1641), and the altar "Afro Death 31" by Tutto Crolla, made by instructions simultaneously in Münster, Puerto Montt and Santiago, among other elements reunited to attain " a moment where chaos reigns, with a free passage to another world...".

PROTOCOLO OURO PRETO -
VII Bienal do Mercosul
Porto Alegre Brazil, Oct. 16-Nov. 29, 2009

ID presents a piece within the show "Magnetic Tree" by curator Mario Navarro in the 7th Biennale of Mercosul "Scream and Listen", Porto Alegre, Brazil (all the pieces in this show have to change their appeareance a number of ten times during the 45 day exhibition). "Protocolo Ouro Preto" (title refers to a document that states the administrative rules of the commercial treaty of Mercosul) consists of a 15 minute film shot in Porto Alegre with a group of amateur actors from the Bambas de Orgia Samba School, which is released in 7 stages, as a local artist (Fabianno Gummo from the Porto Alegre performance team Tentacle Ensemble Collective -TEC) performs weekly" activations" of consecutive spaces, each one containing one scene. The work reflects on political propaganda and the political responsability of the artist, using opposed ideas and counteractive elements and including references to Leni Riefenstahl, Gustav Metzger, Cildo Meireles and other luminaries, like half-failed political projects from the 1930's in Brasil.

Instruction to print the booklet (printing version):
This publication has 120 interior pages that can be printed to fit on A4 or A3. In printing preferences choose printing odd numbers first, then reverse the order of the resulting stack of prints, flip and insert again in the printer to print down the even numbers, this will yield a nice collection of 58 images opposed to 58 pages of witty poems. Print the cover and fold. The original issue is not bound or tied or stapled so the pages can be interchanged and progressively fucked up according to the user's whim. Good luck!
