Acronym Fever and Scheissebôite

May-April, 2007,
De Warande Cultural Center, Turnhout, Belgium and deBijlmer Amsterdam.

This update of our web page is an account of the involvement of Instituto Divorciado in two shows that happened in Holland and Belgium during April of 2007. These invitations turned out two pieces, “Acronym Fever” and “Scheissebôite”, both comprised of a movie, an “activation” performance, and a sculpture-installation. What you are about to see we consider one big developing event, to be linked also to future outputs. The work has to be understood as a full collaboration, where the boundaries between ideas and authorship are completely blurred and blended together. The sculptures, audiovisuals, editorial projects and other elements derived of these events are forever intimately related. Thanks to Paz Aburto Guevara end De Warande Cultural Center in Turnhout, Belgium, and thanks to the six people in the 2007 Curatorial Training Program of De Appel, in Amsterdam, Holland, under the direction of Ann Demeister. Love and many thanks to all old and new friends that we met during this trip. Photo credits to Anu Vahtra, Giancarlo Pazzaneze, Benjamín Echazarreta and Maaike Gouwenberg.
